Iron Man 2 Review

In Iron Man 2, the son (Ivan) of Howard Stark's enemy (Anton Vanko) came back to get revenge on Tony (played by Robert Downy Jr.). We meet Whiplash and Black Widow (mom's favorite Superhero). The army attempts to steal the suit design and it causes another epic battle.

I would rate this 5 D-Stars because I see nothing wrong with this movie. But, a BIG question is why does Whiplash like whips so much? And if you say it is because of his name, it's not. And, why couldn't any other country make these suits but Whiplash could in Russia? And, how did he get to his suit and whips over to america?

Mom's Takeaways: "My favorite movie yet! Tony is arrogant and funny, Mickey Rourke is a fantastic bad boy, and Black Widow is now my favorite superhero. She is awesome! I don't like that Howard Stark isn't the same as in Captain America, nor do I like that Rhode is a new charter from the first Iron Man. Great story line."

The Incredible Hulk Review

In The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner (played by Edward Norton), was working on a project involving gamma radiation. To test his project, he tested it on himself and it backfired, turning him into The Hulk. Now, every time he gets angry, he turns in to Hulk. In the end, there is an epic battle between him and The Abomination.

Immediately after you watch The Incredible Hulk, watch the Marvel One-Shot, The Consultant.

BTW: Spoilers are included. I warned you.

I would rate this movie 4 D-Stars because I think there was too much fighting. I am not saying this because I think fighting is bad, but they could've had more back story. And, I want to know if Stan Lee died from drinking the soda. I liked that Thunder Bolt Ross was in the movie and in the Captain America 2 trailer and know they connect. Also, would like to know if Thunder Bolt Ross will ever turn into Red Hulk.

Mom's Takeaways: "Not bad. I liked Liv Tyler. Ed Norton did a good job. LOVED the original Bruce Banner cameo. I didn't like the speedy back story in the beginning and the excessive fighting at the end. It was too violent (mother instincts) and stressful."

Iron Man Review

In Iron Man, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) was captured in Afghanistan and held hostage in a cave with a man named Yinsen. He created the first Iron Man suit in a cave with his weapons and scrape metal.

BTW: Spoilers are included. I warned you.

I rate Iron Man 4 D-Stars because at the final battle when Obadiah Stane was in his suit and got hit by the giant Arc Reactor electricity ray, he got electrocuted and passed out. Tony was missing his hand and helmet, but he didn't get electrocuted and that made me MAD. Also, when Tony and Obadiah were flying he said "How'd you solve the icing problem?" Then Obadiah froze up and fell, but Tony was still up flying and not freezing. How was he not freezing? How did he fix it? I NEED TO KNOW.

Mom's Takeaways: "I had high expectations because Robert Downey Jr. was in it. He is a member of the Brat Pack, so it should've been awesome. It wasn't. I was MAD from the beginning when the pictures of Howard Stark weren't the same guy in Captain America. I did like learning about S.H.I.E.L.D. The robots fighting STRESSED ME OUT."

Captain America The First Avenger Review

This is the first Marvel movie in the Marvel series and we learned about a lot of characters. This movie took place in 1940 during the war. Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans) was chosen to be a new breed of super solider. He lead a team to take down Hydra, Nazis, and Schmitz. Lots of action and a great setup for the next movie

I would rate it 5 D-Stars. Because I saw nothing wrong with it accept the end credits but that's a hole new story. I thought Bucky death was tragic.

Mom's Takeaways: "It was WAY better than I expected Captain America is HOT and I would date him. I didn't know agent Carter was a girl. In the movie I wish she would've wore pants and sensible shoes because she was in the army. I loved how Iron Man's dad (Howard Stark) was in the movie and I got to know his charter that was really cool. I assumed Captain America was immortal because he was in his 20s in this movie and the commercial for other movies he was the same age. I am sad Bucky died."

Educating Mom On Marvel

It's 2016 and it's time for me to teach my mom about superheros. It has been annoying talking to her about superheros without her understanding. So, me and Mom are watching all the Marvel superhero movies in correct order. (See image below.)

While we are watching all the superhero movies (I have already seen), I will be reviewing and rating each one in its own blog posting. I will rate them with D-STARS.

0 D-Stars = Let's be honest, all Marvel movies deserve 1 D-Star
1 D-Star = One Direction Worthy
2 D-Stars = Like Quick Silver's death, it's not necessary
3 D-Stars = Even match
4 D-Stars = This is Superhero quality
5 D-Stars = Better than any Superhero movie CREATED
