AMS Spring Concert

When I was on my trip in Jamaica, the AMS had a concert and I am reviewing it. I am going to review each song and the overall concert.

Ode to Peace
This song was arranged by Jill Gillian. It was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven as part of his Ninth Symphony.

I thought this song was sang very well. They harmonized and the split worked very well, but from the camera perspective it looked like some kids weren't singing. But overall it was terrific.

Shule Aroon (Siuil A Ruin)
This song is believed to be from 17th century or early 18th century. It's about a women whose love has enlisted in the Irish army.

This is one of my favorite songs. I think the soloist did great. I did not like the lady that walked in front of the camera or that after Donovan finished his solo some kids were laughing at him.

Cat Meow Song
This song is officially known as the "Duetto buffo di due gatti" ("Humorous duet for two cats"). This piece comes from the opera "Ottelo."This song was done very well. The two side worked together. I thought the cat fight part was good, but I am confused which side was the loud cats and which side was the quite cats.

Overall

I think my classmates did TERRIFIC. Some parts could've been better but we're still learning.

Jamaica Review (This isn't a movie)

Over the past few days we went on vacation for my mom's spring break. We stayed in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was 2 plane trips; one was 2 hours and the other 3 hours, but on the secibd flight there were TV screens and we could watch TV shows of movies. On the way back it was 5 hours with no TV screens.

This looks a lot like our room
We stayed at Sunscape Splash Resort. Our room was on the 9th floor; we had a porch that overlooked the ocean. There were 4 pools. We spent the most time in the activities pool because it was Kyra's and mom's favorite pool.

We went on a few excursions. We went tubing, shopping, and to Rose Hall Great Place. The first one you get to hear about is tubing.

Tubing
We drove 45 mins to Falmouth to go tubing down the Rio Bueno. When we first got there we had a few pictures taken. The we climbed some mini waterfalls. After that experience we went river tubing. There were some mini rapids and once we finished we got to go rafting out in the ocean to a beach. What was really terrifying was that where we were rafting it was 400 ft deep, but it was fun.

Shopping
We went shopping in three places. In the first place they were selling Beats headphones for really cheap. Kyra almost got ran over by a reckless driver and somebody tried to sell a lady in our group drugs. The second place Kyra and I bought cool hats. I also got a pair of Beats headphones. Mom got some jewelry. The third place was a craft market. They had really small shops and and we got to bargain with them. We got some cool stuff in the end.

Rose Hall Great House

Rose Hall
Rose Hall Great House is said to be a haunted plantation house that was built in the 1800s. We got tickets to see it at night. Our tour guide told us it wasn't going to be scary. LIES. Kyra got the crap scared out of her. Next time we go, we are going in the day to learn about Rose Hall and the crazy lady who lived there.
