Avenger's Age Of Ultron Review

Forgot to post from 05.01.2016

When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jump-starts a dormant peace-keeping program, things go terribly wrong, forcing the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron (James Spader), a technological terror on a hunt for human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff also know as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

I would rate this a 5 D-Stars because all the Avengers movies deserve a 5 D-Star rating. They are awesome. One thing I think they should've done is make Ultron sound a little more robot like. What I liked about this is that we start to see a feud between Stark and Cap.That is how Civil War starts, with a little fight but then the fight gets bigger between them in Civil War I hope. Team Iron Man is the best.

Mom's Thoughts: "I liked seeing the gang all together again, the chemistry between Black Widow and Hulk, and the twist with Hawkeye. I also liked seeing the return of an old friend. The rest of it was a lot of fighting and bleh. I hope Civil War lives up to all the hype."

Guardians Of The Galaxy Review

Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, the daughter of a mad titan Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.

I would rate this movie 4 D-Stars. I liked this movie because it is a different movie like for marvel there is only avenger and stand alone movies. I liked this one because it is from space and it doesn't tie into any of the other movies right now. Another thing I liked is that this movies will be a big tie in to the other movies. I can't wait to see Peter's dad. Another thing while I was getting a picture for the post I saw that Chris Pratt will be in Avenger's infinity war.

Mom's Thoughts: "I saw this movie once before but I didn't get it. Watching it in order and context, it made so much more sense. Even though I like Chris Pratt, I thought it was confusing and not as cool as the other movies."

AMS Spring Concert

When I was on my trip in Jamaica, the AMS had a concert and I am reviewing it. I am going to review each song and the overall concert.

Ode to Peace
This song was arranged by Jill Gillian. It was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven as part of his Ninth Symphony.

I thought this song was sang very well. They harmonized and the split worked very well, but from the camera perspective it looked like some kids weren't singing. But overall it was terrific.

Shule Aroon (Siuil A Ruin)
This song is believed to be from 17th century or early 18th century. It's about a women whose love has enlisted in the Irish army.

This is one of my favorite songs. I think the soloist did great. I did not like the lady that walked in front of the camera or that after Donovan finished his solo some kids were laughing at him.

Cat Meow Song
This song is officially known as the "Duetto buffo di due gatti" ("Humorous duet for two cats"). This piece comes from the opera "Ottelo."This song was done very well. The two side worked together. I thought the cat fight part was good, but I am confused which side was the loud cats and which side was the quite cats.

Overall

I think my classmates did TERRIFIC. Some parts could've been better but we're still learning.

Jamaica Review (This isn't a movie)

Over the past few days we went on vacation for my mom's spring break. We stayed in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was 2 plane trips; one was 2 hours and the other 3 hours, but on the secibd flight there were TV screens and we could watch TV shows of movies. On the way back it was 5 hours with no TV screens.

This looks a lot like our room
We stayed at Sunscape Splash Resort. Our room was on the 9th floor; we had a porch that overlooked the ocean. There were 4 pools. We spent the most time in the activities pool because it was Kyra's and mom's favorite pool.

We went on a few excursions. We went tubing, shopping, and to Rose Hall Great Place. The first one you get to hear about is tubing.

Tubing
We drove 45 mins to Falmouth to go tubing down the Rio Bueno. When we first got there we had a few pictures taken. The we climbed some mini waterfalls. After that experience we went river tubing. There were some mini rapids and once we finished we got to go rafting out in the ocean to a beach. What was really terrifying was that where we were rafting it was 400 ft deep, but it was fun.

Shopping
We went shopping in three places. In the first place they were selling Beats headphones for really cheap. Kyra almost got ran over by a reckless driver and somebody tried to sell a lady in our group drugs. The second place Kyra and I bought cool hats. I also got a pair of Beats headphones. Mom got some jewelry. The third place was a craft market. They had really small shops and and we got to bargain with them. We got some cool stuff in the end.

Rose Hall Great House

Rose Hall
Rose Hall Great House is said to be a haunted plantation house that was built in the 1800s. We got tickets to see it at night. Our tour guide told us it wasn't going to be scary. LIES. Kyra got the crap scared out of her. Next time we go, we are going in the day to learn about Rose Hall and the crazy lady who lived there.

Captain America The Winter Soilder

In Captain America, Cap and Black Widow take out a team of pirates. Cap meets a new friend/ally, The Falcon. Together they team up to take out a new foe, The Winter Solider. They also have to take out three helicarriers. I really suggest seeing this movie, but you should also see the first movie or it won't make sense.

I would rate this 5 D-Stars. This movie was great and it setup a solid foundation for the next movie. Especially with the crushed dude (couldn't think of his name) becoming Crossbones in the next movie. And it really relates from the First Avenger Captain America. After we fished watching this movie I finally understood the orgin of Winter Soldier's name.

Mom's Takeaways: "This was an excellent movie. Falcon and Black Widow are tied for my two favorite superheros. What I like best about Marvel movies is the amazing cast of charters. I am always excited to see some of my favorite actors featured as villains and heroes. As you can guess, the fighting was too much for me, but the depth of the story line was impressive. I'm still very angry that the Iron Man movies have a different Mr. Stark. I like the one in the Captain America movies better."
